SPIRITUAL DISTRACTION

Everything is permissible for me, but not all things are beneficial. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not be enslaved by anything [and brought under its power, allowing it to control me].(1 Corinthians 6:12 AMP).

One of the subtle strategies that weakens spiritual growth is distraction. Many believers do not fall because of obvious sin but because their attention gradually shifts from what is spiritually profitable to what is merely convenient or pleasurable.

Friends, you will agree with me that not all things that are permissible are beneficial for your spiritual well-being.

They may appear harmless, yet quietly compete with your devotion, your prayer life, and your sensitivity to the leading of the Spirit.

Worry is a spiritual distraction, but it will come with what seems like a justifiable reason to be worried.

Scripture said,

To keep Satan from taking advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his schemes.( 2 Corinthians 2:11 AMP).

Certain things might not look harmful, but are they beneficial? It might be things you have reasons to do, but are they needful or necessary?

For instance, you can pray anytime of the day, but are the things you choose to do that made you shift a prayer you were prompted to pray truly more needful or beneficial?

Apostle Paul says,

What was gained to me I now count but lose for the excellency of knowing Christ my Lord.(Philippians 3;7).

Friends, I don't care how lucrative those openings may look, if it makes your fellowship and dedication to God come later, then it is a distraction.

Movies are not bad, but they shouldn't be your god. Watch out, if it can keep you awake at night and prayers cannot keep you awake, then you are spiritually distracted and need attention.

Friends, spiritual distraction will keep you off the radar that heaven cannot get you, especially when your sensitivity is needed to handle sensitive issues concerning your life.

Scripture has said,

Be very careful, then, how you live, not as unwise but as wise,

making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.(Ephesians 5:15-16 NIV).

Moreover, many prayers are not answered because it is not the movement of the mouth that makes prayer effective, but the stability of the heart praying, the reason scripture says,

A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. Let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. (James 1:8).

Friends, the foundation for your all-around well-being is your spiritual stability, the need to consistently rise against the things or persons that subtly tend to move your focus and sensitivity off the spiritual radar.

Making peace with God remains the safest thing to do in maintaining spiritual stability, which drives all-around peace and physical well-being.

Therefore, I invite you to make Jesus your personal Lord and Savior as you repeat after me.

Lord Jesus, I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. Please forgive my sins and write my name in the Lamb's book of life.

Thank you for saving me. Amen.

𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥

I pray for you, may every distraction fighting your spiritual focus and stability be cut off, and may God grant you the grace to stay steadfast in Him at all times.

In the name of Jesus.

𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥

Anything that consistently competes with your devotion to God is not merely an activity—it is a distraction.
